Service Description

Join us for a relaxed, creative sewing experience using the Kawandi style โ€” a community hand-stitching process that develops as you sew. Kawandi (a Siddi word for quilt) is about improvisation, connection, and slow stitching. No patterns, no fancy techniques โ€” just simple hand sewing and creativity, inspired by the quilt traditions of the Siddi community of India Gathering Dates Thursday, April 9 1:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16 1:00-3:00 p.m. ๐Ÿงต What to Expect The first session will orient everyone and get everyone started. The second will be an opportunity to expand and share. Community hand-stitching process Create as you go โ€” no pattern needed Slow, mindful sewing A welcoming environment for beginners and experienced makers โœ‚๏ธ Materials Start-up materials provided. Please bring a pair of scissors and any scrap fabric you have laying around. And if you don't have them, no worries, we'll share! ๐Ÿ’ต Cost $5 per person (covers materials) Come stitch, relax, and explore this beautiful community quilting tradition together.
