Summer Book Study & Movement Eco-Somatics Embodiment Practices for a World in Search of Healing Cheryl Pallant, Ph. D. 2 cohorts! 3-week session begins June 1 and 4th Cohort 1 Mondays (in person) 6:00-7:30 June 1, 15, 29 Cohort 2 Thursday (in person/online) 1:00-2:30p.m. June 4, 11, 18 I discovered this book while searching for related topics and added it to my cart out of curiosity. The title caught my attention because I’ve always thought of somatics as connected to our own 'ecosystems' and to nature as a whole. As I read, I noticed the author mixes her personal experience with energetic healing and her background in teaching dance and improvisation. Each of the six chapters encourages us to connect with our own authenticity, perspectives, and inner wisdom in relation to nature. The author shares personal stories and includes short exercises so we can explore our own experiences. The book ends with a chapter focused on embodiment practices. We’ll use these practices each time we meet, so everyone can experience what the book has to offer. From the book cover: “In this practical guide, Pallant explains how ecosomatics—embodiment work for personal and planetary health—can help us shift our consciousness through expanded listening with all of our senses and embracing the interconnections between our inner and outer worlds.” Cheryl Pallant, Ph.D., is an award-winning writer and poet, somatic coach, dancer, and teacher based in Richmond, Virginia. Reading Schedule: Week 1-Intro, Chapters 1&2 Week 2- Chapters 3&4 Week 3- Chapters 5 & 6 + practice review
